Meeting People

Knocking on doors for the first time can nerve racking, but after the first door it gets easier. It may take 2 or 3 doors before you get comfortable with your pitch.

There are 3 simple steps to meeting people. Use these three steps whenever you meet someone. Smile, Eye contact and Excitement/enthusiasm.

1. Smile: You never get a second chance at a first impression. You only have about 10 seconds to give someone a good impression, so the most important step is to smile. Smiles are contagious. Did you know it takes more facial muscles to frown than it does to smile! So give your face a break and smile.

2. Eye Contact: The eyes are the windows to the mind. They can show honesty, deception, and even fear. Your eye movements are very important. Direct eye contact shows honesty, but looking away or shifting to one side appears very deceptive. Always look at someone directly in the eyes, if you find it too intimidating at first, focus on the persons nose or mouth.

3. Excitement/enthusiasm: Like smiles or yawning, excitement and enthusiasm are contagious. If you get excited about something it will always rub off on the people around you. You can get excited about your fantastic new product! You can get excited about the incredible discount you are offering on a service! You can always get excited about the money you made from your last sale. What ever you do, find something to get excited about and let it rub off.
